چکیده
Abstract Purpose The aim of this systematic review was to provide a comprehensive overview micro-CT current applications in forensic pathology, anthropology, odontology, and neonatology. Methods A bibliographic research on the electronic databases Pubmed Scopus conducted time frame 01/01/2001–31/12/2021 without any language restrictions applying following free-text search strategy: “(micro-computed tomography OR micro-CT) AND (forensic legal)”. inclusion criteria were used: (A) English language; (B) Application biological and/or non-biological materials address at least one issue (e.g., age estimation, identification post-mortem interval). papers selected by three independent investigators have been then classified according investigated materials. Results provided 651 records, duplicates excluded. After screening for title abstracts, B, 157 full-text evaluated eligibility. Ninety-three papers, mostly (64) published between 2017 2021, included; considering that two several materials, an overall amount 99 classifiable items counted when referring investigated. It emerged bones cartilages (54.55%), followed teeth (13.13%), most frequently analyzed Moreover, allowed collection structural, qualitative quantitative information also soft tissues, fetuses, insects, foreign Conclusion Forensic progressively increased last 5 years with very promising results. According evidence, we might expect near future shift its use from purposes clinical cases.

Bimodal magnetic resonance imaging-computed tomography nanoprobes: A Review
Bimodal imaging combines two imaging modalities in order to benefit from their advantages and compensate the limitations of each modality. This technique could accurately detect diseases for diagnostic purposes. Nanoparticles simultaneously offer diagnostic data via various imaging modalities owing to their unique properties. Moreover, bimodal nanoprobes could be incorporated into theranostic s...
متن کاملthe applications of cone-beam computed tomography in endodontics: a review of literature
by producing undistorted three-dimensional images of the area under examination, cone-beam computed tomography (cbct) systems have met many of the limitations of conventional radiography. these systems produce images with small field of view at low radiation doses with adequate spatial resolution that are suitable for many applications in endodontics from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up. t...

متن کاملX-ray micro-computed tomography
Micro-computed tomography (μCT) has been successfully used to study the cardiovascular system of mouse embryos in situ. With the use of barium as a suitablecontrast agent, blood vessels have beenimaged and analysed quantitatively such asblood volume and vessel sizes on embryosof ages 14.5 to 16.5 days old. The advantageof using this imaging modality is that it hasprovide...
متن کاملMicro computed tomography for vascular exploration
Vascular exploration of small animals requires imaging hardware with a very high spatial resolution, capable of differentiating large as well as small vessels, in both in vivo and ex vivo studies. Micro Computed Tomography (micro-CT) has emerged in recent years as the preferred modality for this purpose, providing high resolution 3D volumetric data suitable for analysis, quantification, validat...
